The Black Glacier is the Mecca of mountaineering and steep skiing in the Ecrins. But when the conditions are right, it is the couloirs that are the most coveted. Everyone dreams of climbing them and putting down their skis in these north faces that are as majestic as they are impressive. It is the paradise of the steep slope within reach of skiing.
Starting from the Pré de Madame Carle at 1800 m. We will go up the glacier or the moraine for a duration between 2 and 3 hours of skiing. Then we will tackle the real subject. Crampons in feet, we will swallow the unevenness which separate us from the summit. Once at the top, we will take advantage of a well deserved break, then we will put the skis on to start the descent. Each turn will be done with precision and concentration, to find ourselves on the flat of the Black Glacier to contemplate our descended objective. Then we will let ourselves slide until the parking of the Pré.
